Well, today I finally got my offical placement for my last semester before student teaching. I will be teaching 3rd grade at Southview Elementary. Southview is located approximately 2 blocks from my apartment. I am thrilled that the commute will be nothing! Compared to last semester, I can probably get an extra 30 minutes of sleep in the mornings! I really wanted to be placed in Kindergarten or 1st grade, but will make the best of my 3rd grade adventures. My first day will be Friday and I can't wait to meet all of my kids. Although we are all excited to have our placements, all of the assignments and lesson planning begins. Ugh! I hope that I can stay on top of it all and not fall behind... I tend to be a procrastinator!
As for the overseas preparation, I am finishing up the last touches on my application. Everything is due to the Office of Clinical Experience on February 1st. However, the 1st is Sunday so my goal is to have EVERYTHING turned in tomorrow! I got my background clearance checked yesterday... and believe or not, I'm clear! I still lack one essay, but plan on writing that this evening. England seems to always be on my mind these days. There are 2 other girls from my graduating class that are planning on student teaching in West Sussex, England with me. I hope that they will take all 3 of us! I can only imagine the things we will get into and the stories we will have to share. As soon as I learn more on the progress of the application, I will let y'all know!
By the way, I am still waiting on my Praxis score. The website says I should know something by February 6th. I pray that I have passed it! If so, that will be one less thing I will have to worry about.
