More Holiday Updates

Today I went to the beach here in the Perth and could only bare to stay an hour because it was so windy and cold. However, I did come back and get changed and went for an hour long run/jog/walk around my suburb. It was really nice to not freeze to death outside. Spring has finally sprung!

Here are more updates from my trip...

Day 6 - Wednesday, September 30th

Once again we were up early. Today we went on a sail boat around all the islands in the Whitsundays. It was absolutely BEAUTIFUL! We took a purple sailboat out and soaked up the sun and snorkeled throughout the day. Our main destination was to Whitehaven Beach. This beach is one of the top 3 in the whole world. The sand is so fine that they use it to clean telescopes used in outerspace. It is also the beach where the movie Fools Gold with Matthew McConaughey and Kate Hudson was filmed. If you Google this beach, the images are not enhanced. This place is actually that perfect! Also, I am not one to go deep in the ocean water, but the water was so clear that I walked in all the way to my shoulders. Crazy! We took our Camira Day Sail back to Daydream Island and showered for dinner and watched the movie Marley and Me on the big screen set up next to the ocean that night. We were pretty tired that evening. After all, we did work hard to get a tan and enjoy paradise!

Day 7 - Thursday, October 1st

Thursday was our last full day on Daydream Island and we decided to spend it next to the ocean and in the pool. It was so relaxing! That evening, we got all dolled up and took pictures at sunset before dinner. I kept thinking I was in Hawaii. The sky was so lovely with all the different colors. Also, the other half of our group returned later that day, and we all got together for a pool party. About 1/4 of the group were ending their time with Contiki in Daydream Island so it was kind of a final pow-wow. Once again, I got to have control of the microphone from the D.J. and sang all the words to "Wannabe" by the Spice Girls. It ended up being a really fun night and good way to end our Contiki tour. We really did make some great friends on this trip!

Day 8 - Friday, October 2nd

On Friday we left Daydream Island around noon and took a boat to Hamilton Island (another island in the Whitsundays). We flew out of Hamilton Island to Sydney. When we got to Sydney we took a shuttle bus (with a rude driver, I might add) and checked into our hotel, The Victoria Court Bed and Breakfast. All we did Friday night was eat McDonald's for dinner. We were CRAVING some sort of American food and Mickey Dee's was on our minds. We went to bed early so we could wake up and devote an entire day to sightseeing.
