Remembrance Day

Today, November 11th, is a holiday in both Australia and America. Although each country dedicates this day to the past wars, Australia observes Remembrance Day and America observes Veterans' Day. At 11:00am, the entire school stopped for a minute of silence to remember those who have died for their country. I find it ironic that this day in Australia remembers those who have died (similar to our Memorial Day in May) and America remembers those who fought and are still living. Just thought I'd share similarities and differences between the two countries.
