Happy Halloween

It has been such a long week and I was glad to end it with Halloween last night! Yesterday we helped out with a Halloween Carnival at Kendall's school. It really made me feel close to home because it was just like the carnivals we used to have back in the day. Halloween is not very big in Australia, but there are some people who do celebrate it. In the stores, the costume selection is minimal and there isn't a big isle dedicated to candy. I really miss the traditions from home this year with Halloween and Thanksgiving. The stores have moved straight on to Christmas (which isn't a bad thing - I like Christmas, too!) So for Halloween, none of us girls decided to dress up. We just wore the festive headbands as our costume. I really had a good time seeing all the kids at the carnival dressed up and in the Halloween spirit! After the carnival, we decided to go to the pub down the street from my house. They were having a big Halloween celebration and had Rocky Horror playing on the TV screens. Several people were dressed up and it was just one big party. It was so much fun to dance to fun music - including Thriller! The pub closed at midnight (which was early for us), but we decided to walk on home and crawl into bed. I cannot believe it is November! Crazy!
