On the Left Side of the Road

I can't believe that I start my 5th week of teaching tomorrow. Time really is flying by! This weekend was a good, yet a calm one. I got caught up on sleep - which was much needed. I wore myself out this week with little sleep and planning lots. Yesterday I spent the day with Kendall. We hung out at her house and then went to dinner and around town. And the funniest part is... we took ourselves. I got to drive on the wrong side of the road for the first time! It was weird, but it became natural pretty quickly. The only problem I really had was trying to put the blinker on and actually turning the windshield wipers on, and I would look to the right for my rear view mirror and to change gears. Other than that, no problems! Even the roundabouts were easy to grasp. I wanted to have a sign on the outside of the car that said "Out of Towners" so people wouldn't look at us funny when we hoovered to think about our next move. We are borrowing Pippa's son's car for the next couple of weeks since he will be out of town.
Today I am spending the day planning for next week. My goal is to plan out everything so I won't have to worry with it this week. I want to spend Wednesday and Thursday packing for my trip because our flight leaves Friday night at 11:00pm. Kendall and I are flying to Cairns on Friday and will be between there and Whitsundays until the next Friday (Oct. 2nd). Then, we are flying to Sydney and will stay there for 3 nights and then fly by to Perth on October 5th. We are so excited! I can't believe that this break will just about be our halfway mark of our time over here. Crazy!! When we get back to Perth, we will still have about another week off from school and plan on relaxing and doing some touristy things in our own city. Probably by then, we will be poor so we'll need to find CHEAP things to do. I don't have to go back to school until October 13th!!! Hooray for Holiday!
